A police inspector, Lawal Ibrahim, from the Kwali Division, was discovered dead in a hotel room at the Palasa Guest Inn in Gwagwalada, Abuja, following an alleged s*xual encounter with a woman he had met online.

The incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, January 16, after Ibrahim checked into the hotel with Maryam Abba, whom he had invited from Dutse, Jigawa State. The two reportedly engaged in s*xual activity on the night of January 15 and again early on January 16.

After the second encounter, Maryam noticed Ibrahim’s breathing became irregular, and he stopped responding. She attempted to revive him by sprinkling water on him, but he remained unresponsive.

Maryam then informed the hotel manager, Danlami Palasa, who contacted the police. When authorities arrived, they found Ibrahim’s lifeless body in the room.

Ibrahim was later taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. His body was moved to the hospital’s mortuary.

Items found in the hotel room included a watermelon, suspected aphrodisiacs, Ibrahim’s phone charger, and his police identification card. An anonymous officer from the Gwagwalada division confirmed the incident and stated that Maryam had been arrested while the investigation is ongoing.
