Abuja-FCT: Man Collapses and Dies While Breaking Up Fight

A 38-year-old man, Zacharia Moses, collapsed and passed away while attempting to separate a fight in Kuchiyako village, located in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to a witness, Danlami, the incident occurred at around 9:33 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, during a Christmas party at the community square.

Danlami explained that a disagreement had erupted between two young men over a missing phone, with one accusing the other of taking it from his pocket. The owner of the phone confronted the other man, demanding its return, but the accused denied the accusation.

“They were at the party when one of the boys raised an alarm, claiming his phone had been taken from his pocket while dancing, and accused another boy of stealing it. However, when searched, the phone was not found on him,” Danlami said.

The confrontation escalated into a fight, and a man who intervened to separate the two suddenly collapsed. Danlami noted that attempts were made to revive him, but he ultimately died.

“He was rushed to a hospital in Kuje, and a relative mentioned he had asthma, but by then, doctors had already confirmed his death,” he added.

The deceased’s body was taken to the hospital’s mortuary, while the two young men involved in the altercation were arrested by vigilantes and handed over to local security personnel.
