A woman was allegedly rap£d in a pub’s toilets in a ‘frightening ordeal’.
The victim claimed she was attacked by a man in the toilets of the Chop House rock bar in the Merseyside town of Southport in the early hours of last Friday morning.
Detectives have released images of a man they are looking for – Police said that they were issuing two CCTV photographs of a man ‘they would like to speak to as they believe he could assist with the investigation’.
The woman is being supported by specially trained officers following the incident at the venue on Scarisbrick Avenue between midnight and 2am on December 27.
Merseyside Police Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: ‘This was an incredibly shocking and frightening ordeal for the victim.
‘Rape and s£xual assault can have a huge and long-lasting impact on victims, and our specialist Unity team will provide specialist support to her throughout the investigation and beyond.
‘As part of enquiries to establish the full circumstances, locate the offender and bring him to justice, we are issuing CCTV images of a man we believe could assist us.
‘We encourage the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us as a matter of urgency.’
