Alex Bruesewitz, a 27-year-old political strategist who played a key role in Donald Trump’s successful 2024 campaign, collapsed while delivering a speech at the 112th annual New York Young Republicans gala on Sunday night.
Bruesewitz was speaking alongside prominent Trump allies, including Steve Bannon and Dan Scavino, when the incident occurred. Video footage shows Bruesewitz appearing unsteady, slurring his words, and admitting, “I’m forgetting my words,” before slowly collapsing on stage.
He was reportedly given medical attention backstage following the fall.
The cause of the medical episode remains unclear, but conservative commentator Jack Posobiec, who spoke with Bruesewitz afterward, referred to it as a “fainting spell.”
Bruesewitz joined Trump’s campaign team in the summer, focusing on youth outreach and communications. His efforts were credited with enhancing Trump’s appeal among younger voters.
The event highlighted Bruesewitz’s prominent role in Trumpworld, as he continues to recover from the unexpected incident.
