The man, identified only as Mr. John, was apprehended on December 11, 2024, near Thephasadin Stadium in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district. He allegedly advertised his services for 12,000 baht, claiming it was a way to supplement his income during his stay in the country.
The arrest followed an investigation initiated after reports indicated that Mr. John (a pseudonym) was using a public website to promote illicit services. Detectives launched an operation using an undercover agent who contacted Mr. John via the Line messaging app and arranged a meeting at the stadium to finalize the terms.
After a discreet exchange of payment, officers who had been monitoring the situation moved in swiftly, arresting Mr. John and seizing his mobile phone, which contained evidence of his online activity.
During questioning, conducted with the assistance of an English-speaking interpreter, Mr. John revealed that he had entered Thailand as a tourist on October 21, 2024, with a visa valid until December 19, 2024. He admitted to offering s*xual services online as a side business to earn extra money.
Mr. John has been charged with soliciting prostitution and is currently in custody at the Pathum Wan police station, where further legal proceedings will take place. Investigations are ongoing to determine if he is part of a larger network or acting independently.
