Queen Camilla has revealed that she recently suffered from pneumonia. The 77-year-old disclosed her health condition to guests during a state luncheon at Buckingham Palace, hosted for the Emir of Qatar.
The Queen’s recent health challenges have led to adjustments in her royal duties. She missed the outdoor elements of the state visit, including the ceremonial welcome at Horse Guards Parade, on her doctor’s advice.
While the Queen did not require hospitalization, she is still experiencing bouts of extreme fatigue.
A royal source explained that her condition is improving, with the coughing subsiding, but significant tiredness remains.
Camilla contracted the chest infection following a long-haul trip to Australia and Samoa in October. Since then, she has missed several engagements, including the Royal Variety Performance and the Remembrance Day service.
It’s important to note that the Queen’s infection was viral, not bacterial, and she has recovered from pneumonia.
