Prince Harry, 40, participated in The New York Times DealBook Conference, joining Andrew Ross Sorkin to discuss media intrusion and its impact. He revealed his personal approach to coping with negative press: “Once you stop reading the stuff about yourself, you automatically remove their power.”
Harry also spoke about his legal actions against Rupert Murdoch’s company, emphasizing that his motivation was simple: “Accountability. It’s really that simple.”
The Duke looked sharp in a deep blue suit paired with an unbuttoned white shirt, opting for a relaxed yet polished style without a tie.
The DealBook Conference features influential figures from business, politics, and entertainment, including Jeff Bezos, Bill Clinton, and Alex Cooper, host of Call Her Daddy.
During his visit to New York, Harry is also expected to attend the opening celebration for the art exhibition Friend, a collaboration between his charity Sentebale and the Ki Smith Gallery.
Sentebale, founded by Harry and Prince Seeiso in 2006 in memory of their mothers, Princess Diana and Queen Mother ‘Mamohato Bereng Seeiso, supports children and young people in Southern Africa, particularly those living with HIV/AIDS.
The exhibition, opening to the public on December 14 at the Lower East Side gallery, features works by celebrated artists including Bridget Riley, Frank Stella, Tadaaki Kuwayama, Rakuko Naito, and Agnes Martin.
In a joint statement, Harry and Prince Seeiso expressed their excitement: “This collaboration with Ki Smith and his gallery is incredibly meaningful to the organization. Ki’s visit to Lesotho in October to witness Sentebale’s work firsthand and connect with the creativity and resilience of the young people we serve was truly special.
Friend is making art accessible to everyone – an act that resonates deeply with Sentebale’s mission to leave no one behind.
