Lagos State Police Rapid Response Squad (RRS) operatives have arrested Ifeanyi Okonkwo, a man caught on CCTV stealing a phone at an eatery on Kafi Street in Alausa, Ikeja.

According to an official post from the RRS’s X handle, Okonkwo was apprehended when he returned to the same restaurant a month after the theft.

On November 7, 2024, Okonkwo visited the eatery to buy food but stole a Samsung A15 phone belonging to another customer.

Unbeknownst to him, the theft was recorded on CCTV as he discreetly took the phone from the counter.

Despite not realizing he was being searched for, Okonkwo returned to the restaurant on December 5, where he was recognized and arrested by RRS operatives.

The operatives have since recovered the stolen phone from the buyer, and the suspect has been charged in court.
