The Princess of Wales was among the royals attending the annual Christmas Day service at Sandringham, where they greeted members of the public during the traditional walkabout.
While taking her time to chat with well-wishers—many of whom shared their support following her challenging year, which included undergoing preventative chemotherapy—Kate became separated from her family. Unfazed, she joked with the crowd: “I think I’ve lost my family.”
A Festive Family Outing
Kate was accompanied by her husband, Prince William, and their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The young royals charmed the crowd, with Charlotte taking a selfie with a fan and graciously accepting flowers and chocolates. This marked Kate’s first public appearance since hosting her Together at Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey on December 6. The event, themed around love, kindness, and empathy, featured contributions from Lady Gabriella Kingston, whom Kate invited to help with preparations following the tragic loss of Lady Gabriella’s husband earlier this year.

During the carol service, Kate shared a heartfelt message about the meaning of the season: “Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. It’s a time for presents, tinsel, and mince pies, but it’s also a time to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all.
“It is when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life that we find the space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness, and forgiveness—so much of what the Christmas spirit is all about.”
