A controversial court ruling has sparked widespread debate after a Zimbabwean man, Forward Mumango, was granted an eviction order to remove his wife, Primrose Mumango, and their children from their family home in favor of his new girlfriend.
According to reports from H-Metro, Mumango obtained a protection order from Magistrate Meenal Narotam at the Harare Civil Court, which prohibits his wife and children from returning to the home.
Mumango claimed that his family’s refusal to accept his new girlfriend and their disrespect toward her led him to take this drastic measure.
“She is so disrespectful and failing to accept my second wife as part of our family,” he told the court. “They are making it impossible for me to live in peace with my new wife. I want them out of my house because they don’t want to accept my decision as the father of the house.”
The case took an emotional turn when the couple’s daughter, Tofara Mumango, broke down in tears upon hearing the court’s ruling. In a heartfelt outburst, she accused her father of being manipulated and neglecting his family.
“How could he do this to my mum?” Tofara cried. “He is just doing this because his girlfriend has manipulated him; he doesn’t care about us. He is punishing us for not accepting his new girlfriend.”
Court officials had to intervene to calm Tofara as her emotional plea escalated. Primrose Mumango, visibly upset, described her husband’s actions as a betrayal.
“He is no longer in his normal senses; he has been manipulated by his girlfriend. I am heartbroken by his decision to seek a protection order against me and evict our children,” she said.
The case has sparked outrage on social media, with many expressing sympathy for the evicted family and criticizing Mumango’s actions.
