God Of Luck: Man Who Is Sentenced To Death For Stealing Fowl Received Intervention From The State Governor

Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered an immediate investigation and action to secure a pardon for a young man reportedly sentenced to death by hanging in Osun State for stealing a fowl.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, December 17, by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke directed the Attorney General to take swift action to ensure the man is considered for a prerogative of mercy before the year’s end.

The statement read:
“I have received reports about a young man allegedly sentenced to death by hanging in Osun State for stealing a fowl. As a result, I have instructed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to thoroughly investigate the case and initiate the process for granting him a prerogative of mercy.

“Osun State upholds justice and equity, and we must ensure fairness while protecting the sanctity of life. I assure the public that this matter has my full attention, and we are addressing it with the urgency it requires.”

The young man’s parents, in an emotional interview with actress Biola Adebayo, recounted how their only son, a medical student, was allegedly “falsely” accused of stealing a fowl and subsequently sentenced to death for the crime.

Governor Adeleke’s intervention has sparked widespread attention, with many calling for a fair resolution and justice for the accused.
