A young man, whose identity remains undisclosed, has allegedly murdered his mother, Justina Amunde, and concealed her body in a well in Cross River State.
The tragic event occurred on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Chairman Road in Ohong Community, Obudu Local Government Area.
A video shared on Facebook by Okoi Promise captures community members retrieving the woman’s lifeless body from the well.
According to an eyewitness account, the suspect ambushed his mother upon her return from church, tied her up, and, with the help of a friend, threw her into the well.
A housemaid in the home was reportedly threatened by the suspect, who warned her to remain silent or face a similar fate.
The man later took the housemaid on a motorcycle, possibly intending harm, but was intercepted by a local vigilante group. The housemaid then disclosed the incident to the community.
The suspect is said to have fled the scene and remains at large.
