A passenger sparked panic on a flight to South Korea after attempting to open the emergency exit door mid-flight, as shown in dramatic footage where flight attendants are seen tackling the individual.

The unidentified man reportedly occupied a crew seat without permission during Korean Air flight KE658, traveling from Bangkok, Thailand, to Incheon, South Korea, on November 7. When a flight attendant asked him to vacate the seat, he allegedly threatened her, despite being warned about potential violations of Korea’s Aviation Security Act.

Video footage captures the chaotic moment when flight attendants rushed to restrain the man as he reached for the emergency door latch, seemingly attempting to open it.

The crew successfully subdued the aggressive passenger, who was then moved to a separate area to calm down. The Airbus A330-300, carrying 238 passengers, landed safely and on schedule at Incheon International Airport around 4:45 am.

The suspect was handed over to Incheon International Airport Police for further investigation.

In a statement, Korean Air said: “The incident was managed according to our established security protocols, prioritizing passenger safety and operational integrity. Although the situation was effectively contained, we will cooperate fully with the relevant authorities in the ongoing investigation. Korean Air enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards actions that threaten aviation safety and will continue to address such incidents decisively.”
