Outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden, 81, was seen stumbling several times while walking with First Lady Jill Biden on a sandy beach near their home in Delaware on Sunday, November 10.
A viral video captured the moment, showing Biden struggling to maintain his balance on the loose sand. At one point, Jill Biden reached out to steady him as he appeared to lose his footing.
The video, recorded by reporters nearby, captured audible gasps and chuckles as Biden navigated the uneven terrain, narrowly avoiding a fall. The footage quickly spread across conservative social media channels, sparking renewed debate over the President’s physical fitness.
Concerns about Biden’s age and cognitive abilities had already been heightened by recent verbal slips and moments of apparent disorientation during his re-election campaign.
The Republican National Committee’s media platform, RNC Research, shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption: “Biden is currently battling the sand at his beach house in Delaware. (The sand is winning).”
Right-wing commentator Benny Johnson also weighed in, joking, “Joe Biden’s latest opponent: Sand.”
Biden ended his re-election bid in July following a difficult debate against Republican candidate Donald Trump, which raised significant concerns about his capacity to serve a second term.
The Democratic Party then nominated Vice President Kamala Harris as its candidate for the November election.
After Trump’s decisive victory in last week’s election, Biden extended his congratulations to the President-elect and invited him to a meeting at the White House.
