Donald Trump arrived at his Wisconsin rally on Wednesday (Oct 30) in a garbage truck and dressed in a garbage picker uniform, just a day after President Joe Biden referred to his supporters as “garbage.”
“How do you like my garbage truck? This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden,” the former president said as he addressed his supporters from the vehicle, which was adorned with his campaign logo and flags, including the American flag.
Trump continued his rally wearing a bright safety vest, and a clip of him discussing the garbage truck has been noted for its humor, garnering more laughs than many Netflix comedy specials.
In his speech, Trump began by telling his supporters that they were “the heart and soul of America” and accused his opponents of derogatory labeling.
“And I must begin by saying 250 million Americans are not garbage. Without question, my supporters are of far higher quality than crooked Joe or lying Kamala,” he declared.
He further criticized the Democratic Party, alleging that its leaders have used derogatory terms to describe his supporters over the past nine years, including “fascist, deplorables, irredeemables, and Nazis.”
Trump humorously shared how he ended up in his garbage uniform. “One of my people came in and said, ‘Sir, you know, the word garbage is the hottest thing right now… would you like to drive a garbage truck?’ I said ‘NO WAY!’ But then they said, ‘If you did, it makes you look thinner.’ I said, ‘Oh…’ and they got me when they said I look thinner,” he explained.
“I may never wear a blue jacket again. I may go in this,” he joked, referring to his outfit.
