A viral video has emerged showing members of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star rejecting Roland Olumba Obu, the son of the late Olumba Olumba Obu, as their Messiah.
The followers of the religious group previously held deep reverence for the late founder and spiritual leader, Olumba Olumba Obu, who was believed to possess near-supernatural powers during his lifetime.
However, it appears that members are no longer extending the same reverence to his son, Roland Olumba Obu. The video captures a chaotic scene inside the church, where members are seen removing and destroying a photo of Roland Olumba Obu from the church wall.
A Facebook post by DaZion Umoh stated: “AWAKENING THE CUSTOMERS OF BROTHERHOOD OF THE CROSS AND STAR. After nearly 100 years of deceit, followers of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star are finally realizing that Mr. Roland Olumba Obu is not the deity they believed him to be.”
The post further explained that the division within the Brotherhood began after the death of the founder’s daughter, who was active in the church.
It claims that Roland Olumba Obu, who had shown little interest in the church before his father’s death, has now been rejected by true followers, partially due to family disputes.
The issue stems from Roland’s new wife reportedly wanting her first son to succeed Roland instead of Prince Roland Obu, who was originally seen as the legitimate heir.
The post concludes by noting that Roland Olumba Obu has been struggling with his health while facing personal and family challenges.
