Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the 2024 U.S. presidential election, has expressed his gratitude to tech billionaire Elon Musk, calling him a “genius” and emphasizing the need to protect him.
On Wednesday, November 6, Trump highlighted Musk’s Starlink satellite service, which he credited with saving “a lot of lives” during Hurricane Helene, which impacted the southeastern United States in October.
“I told Elon they needed it badly in North Carolina. Can you get it? He had it there so fast, it was incredible. It saved a lot of lives,” Trump said.
He went on to praise Musk’s intellect, saying, “He’s a character, he’s a special guy, he’s a super genius. We have to protect our geniuses; we don’t have that many of them.”
Musk has been a strong backer of Trump’s campaign, even making a surprise donation of $1 million to support voters who register to vote for the Republican Party.
