Princess Anne embraced a classic fashion choice for her latest royal engagement—a timeless trench coat.
Known for her impeccable style and support of British fashion and local manufacturers, Princess Anne, 74, selected this staple as she visited Harrison Spinks, a family-owned bed-making business in Leeds, for an exclusive look at British-made bedding production.

At her first stop on Wednesday at the company’s Yorkshire farm, she wore the trench over a tweed double-breasted jacket and matching skirt, paired with black suede knee-high boots and mauve gloves.
Anne’s outfit included a scarf with personal ties to her brother; the checkered scarf was reportedly gifted by King Charles from his Gloucestershire residence, Highgrove House, to several family members last Christmas, including Anne, her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, and Lady Louise Windsor.

During her visit to the farm, the Princess learned about Harrison Spinks’ sustainable farming practices, from its award-winning Wensleydale sheep to innovative hemp and flax used for luxury mattress fillings. She later toured the company’s Leeds manufacturing facility alongside West Yorkshire’s Lord-Lieutenant, Mr. Ed Anderson CBE.
At the factory, she removed her trench coat and swapped her wool scarf for a tapestry-style one, while observing skilled artisans demonstrate traditional techniques like hand side stitching and tufting, key to the company’s luxury beds for over 180 years.

Simon Spinks, Chairman of Harrison Spinks, shared his pride in the royal visit, saying, “We are deeply honored to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to our farm and factory today and to receive the King’s Award for Sustainable Development. This recognition honors our team’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation from farm to final product.

“As a family business, we take pride in leading the industry toward a more responsible future and supporting our local communities and the environment. Having The Princess Royal present this award and witness our sustainable efforts has made this day truly special for our team.”
