Sean “Diddy” Combs is once again seeking bail while awaiting trial, filing a new motion on Friday, November 9.
The motion highlights cases of similar defendants who were granted bail despite facing comparable charges, despite Diddy’s previous bail requests being denied.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Diddy’s lawyers have proposed a detailed bail package, including a $50 million bond and continuous surveillance to ensure he does not flee or intimidate witnesses before his trial.
This motion follows earlier attempts in September when his bail requests were denied twice. His legal team argues that other defendants facing similar charges received bail with much smaller bond amounts.
For example, a CEO accused of sex trafficking and witness intimidation was granted bail with bonds of $10 million and $500K, significantly lower than the $50 million bond Diddy has offered.
Despite these arguments, Diddy remains incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, after a judge ruled that the government had proven he poses a danger.
He faces federal charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His trial is scheduled for May 2024.
