Queen Camilla Withdraws From Gladiator II Premiere Due To Health Reasons

Queen Camilla has been forced to miss the royal premiere of Gladiator II on Wednesday due to health concerns. Sources say Her Majesty’s absence is a result of ongoing health issues.

This decision comes as a surprise, given Queen Camilla’s usual dedication to attending public events without fail unless there is a significant reason.

A royal source confirmed that while the Queen is currently recovering from a chest infection, she is expected to return to her duties on Tuesday but will forgo the premiere to prioritize her recovery.

The 77-year-old monarch’s illness was officially announced last week, with a statement from the Palace saying: “Her Majesty The Queen is unwell with a chest infection and has been advised by her doctors to take a short period of rest.

“Regrettably, this means she will miss her engagements this week, but she hopes to be well enough to attend Remembrance events this weekend as scheduled. Her Majesty apologizes for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause.”

Although she will miss the Gladiator II premiere, Camilla will still attend a Palace reception with King Charles on Wednesday to honor the TV and film industries, though she is not expected to stay for the full event.

The adjustments to her schedule are being made to ensure her continued recovery, with royal doctors taking precautions to avoid any setbacks.

King Charles, 75, will still attend the premiere at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, where he is set to meet the film’s director, Sir Ridley Scott, and stars such as Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, and Pedro Pascal.

This health issue follows a recent private stopover in India for the King and Queen during their return journey from a ten-day tour of Australia and Samoa. Buckingham Palace confirmed that the couple took the brief break in India to rest before completing their travels back to the UK.
