The Princess of Wales has reportedly developed a renewed interest in faith during her recovery from cancer.
In his biography Charles III, royal author Robert Hardman reveals that Kate’s health journey has led her to explore spiritual questions more deeply, in contrast to her husband, Prince William.
Hardman writes, “Within the royal circle, especially in the Church of England, there’s been speculation that the events of 2024 might have nudged the Prince of Wales toward spirituality. But unlike his father, King Charles, who is devoted to faith and spiritualism, or the late Queen’s steadfast commitment to the Anglican Church, William remains uninterested in ceremonial and religious matters.”
One insider noted, “He’s a modern young man, and I think he gets uncomfortable with certain aspects of tradition and religion.”
While William isn’t likely to suddenly embrace regular worship, Kate, on the other hand, has reportedly grown more curious about matters of faith due to her illness. “There’s more hope there,” remarked a family friend who attends church.
In September, Kate shared a personal update on her recovery in a heartfelt video, where she said, “The cancer journey is complex, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
“It also humbles you, confronting you with your vulnerabilities and bringing a fresh perspective. This time has reminded William and me to be grateful for life’s simple yet essential moments—of simply loving and being loved.”
