Celebrating a child’s birthday is always a cherished occasion, and Crown Prince Leka of Albania made his daughter Princess Geraldine’s dreams come true with an enchanting Frozen-themed celebration.
The grounds of a hotel in Tirana were transformed into a winter wonderland for four-year-old Geraldine and her friends, complete with a snow-filled castle adorned with turrets, a balloon arch, a bubble machine, and a special appearance from Elsa herself.
“Geraldine is now at an age where she revels in the magic of birthday parties, especially surrounded by her friends,” Prince Leka shared. “To make her day memorable, I arranged a Frozen-themed celebration at a central hotel in Tirana, inviting friends with children of a similar age.
“The lively atmosphere was a refreshing change from the formal events typically hosted by the Royal Family, and it was wonderful to see both parents and children enjoying the festivities.”
Naturally, Geraldine had a say in the theme and wore a custom ice-blue gown with a cape and beaded icicles, designed by local brand Bel Eve.
“She adores the magical world of castles and princesses,” Prince Leka added. “Her favorite character is Elsa, whom she admires for her fair looks and blond hair. Geraldine loves to embody Elsa, a character representing strength, independence, and elegance—a magical royal spirit that resonates with her.”
In addition to a visit from Elsa, the party’s pièce de résistance was a stunning castle-themed cake, crafted by Reka, a local bakery with a sentimental connection to the Albanian royal family.
“The cake was created by Sara Event and crafted by Reka, the same bakery that made the wedding cake for my grandparents, King Zog and Queen Geraldine, in 1938,” Prince Leka explained. “The party brought together beloved friends, notable guests, and warm wishes, making it an unforgettable celebration for Princess Geraldine.”
Prince Leka, who shares Geraldine with his former wife, Elia, also serves as an advisor within the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and presides over the Queen Geraldine Foundation. One of his favorite pastimes with Geraldine is exploring Albania together.
“Traveling the country with Geraldine lets us share experiences and strengthen our bond while discovering new places,” he said. “Her lively spirit and warmth have endeared her to so many Albanians, and it’s a joy to watch her interact with people so openly and warmly.”
