An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court has ordered the remand of 33-year-old Comfort Olajumoke Olalere Tinubu at the Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan for allegedly stabbing her husband, Oluwasegun Tinubu, 39, to death.

Olalere faces a murder charge brought by the police.

According to the prosecutor, Cpl. Akeem Akinloye, the incident occurred during a dispute at their home in Zone 5, Gbelu, Iyana–Agbala, Ibadan, around 9:00 p.m. on October 30, 2024, when she allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife.

The offence violates Section 316 and is punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Chief Magistrate Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi, citing a lack of jurisdiction, did not take the defendant’s plea and ordered her remand until the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) provides legal advice.

The case has been adjourned until March 5, 2025, for mention.
