Ogun State: Husband Lynched His Wife During A Domestic Dispute

A man, Olubunmi Johnson, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police for allegedly setting his wife, Kikelomo, on fire during a domestic dispute at their apartment in Ilogbo, Ota.

The incident occurred on Fagbuyi Street at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

A neighbor who witnessed the attack alerted the victim’s family, who then contacted the police.

The case is currently under investigation as an attempted murder.

Police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest, stating that officers from the Ilogbo Division acted swiftly, leading to the capture of the 55-year-old suspect.

Odutola said: “The husband poured petrol on his wife and set her on fire with a match. Bystanders quickly rushed her to the hospital.

“After receiving the report, our detectives acted promptly and detained the husband.”
