Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina, Miss Universe 2024 first runner-up and Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, was recently pictured with her father, Chief Okey Onwe Adetshina, a businessman based in Cape Town.
Dr. Ike Chioke, a financial advisor and Managing Director at Afrinvest West Africa Ltd, shared the images in a congratulatory post on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Dr. Chioke revealed that he had hosted Chidimma and her father in his home in Enugu several weeks prior to her trip to Mexico.
“Congratulations to our very own Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, who represented Nigeria and secured the 1st Runner-up position at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico,” he wrote. “Chidimma is widely known as the titleholder of Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, and she was also crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, becoming the highest-ranked African contestant in Miss Universe history.”
He continued, “What is less known is that Chidimma hails from Amuri in Nkanu Local Government Area, Enugu State. It was my pleasure to host her, her father, Okey Onwe Adetshina, and my brother Michael Enebechi in my home in Enugu before she left for Mexico.”
He added, “Chidimma, having witnessed your journey, I am immensely proud of your grace, beauty, intelligence, resilience, and determination. You’ve made us all incredibly proud. Thank you for putting a Nigerian woman on the global stage and for making Enugu, Nigeria, and Africa proud. We eagerly await your return, our heroine.”
