Fresh from their recent 10-day tour of Australia and Samoa, King Charles and Queen Camilla already have their next destination in mind.
According to The Mirror, the royal couple plans to tour Rome in 2025, hoping to arrange an audience with the Pope at the Vatican.
This announcement follows the success of their recent travels, as Buckingham Palace confirms that the King is set to embrace more international engagements in the coming year.
A spokesperson stated, “We’re now working on a pretty normal-looking full overseas tour programme for next year, which is a high point for us, knowing that we can think in those terms.”
While there were no updates on the King’s health or his treatment progress, the spokesperson added that the Australian and Samoan tour had been uplifting for him, “genuinely lifting his spirits, his mood, and his recovery.”
After the tour, Charles and Camilla took some time to unwind at SOUKYA, an exclusive retreat in Bangalore, India, known to attract celebrities like Emma Thompson and Desmond Tutu. The retreat, where stays cost £3,000 per week, is managed by Dr. Issac Mathai, who noted that the royal couple are “the least demanding” of his guests.
“We are very excited to see them again at SOUKYA,” Dr. Mathai told The Independent. “They soak in every bit of our retreat… from morning yoga and sattvic food—which is strictly vegetarian—to the Ayurvedic treatments.”
He shared that Camilla, in particular, never misses a yoga session and that both she and Charles enjoy the food so much that they’ve considered bringing their royal chefs to India for training.
