On their way back to the UK following a 10-day tour of Australia and Samoa, King Charles and Queen Camilla took a brief stopover in India for a restorative spa retreat.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that Their Majesties had a short, private stay in India to break up their journey from Samoa, with plans to return to the UK on Wednesday.

In India, the royal couple stayed at SOUKYA, an exclusive £3,000-a-week wellness resort in Bangalore, popular among celebrities like Emma Thompson and Desmond Tutu, as reported by MailOnline.

Their daily routine included morning yoga sessions, rejuvenation treatments, a nutritious vegetarian lunch, and evening meditation before lights out at 9 pm. It’s reported that Camilla even stopped at the resort on her way to the recent tour.

The royals, who have visited SOUKYA several times, enjoy the retreat’s holistic offerings led by Dr. Issac Mathai. Dr. Mathai noted that members of the royal family are “the least demanding” guests.

He shared that Camilla is especially dedicated, never missing a yoga session or treatment, and that both she and King Charles are so fond of the resort’s food that they’ve expressed interest in having their royal chefs trained in India. “Camilla even requested we pack our special soup for her private jet,” Dr. Mathai said.

“We’re thrilled to welcome them back to Soukya,” Dr. Mathai added. “They truly immerse themselves in everything—from morning yoga and sattvic vegetarian meals to Ayurvedic treatments.”
