Jigawa State: Fire Guts A Fuel Tanker At The Jigawa-Kano Border

A fuel tanker has exploded at the Jigawa-Kano border, causing widespread panic among local villagers.

Aliyu M.A., the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) Jigawa State Command, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. The explosion took place near Gamoji village along Maiduri Road.

According to the statement, on November 12, 2024, at approximately 10:43 AM, the Federal Fire Service received an emergency call from Zubairu Ahmad, the Village Head of Kuho, reporting a tanker accident at Tsaida, Kwanar Kalle.

The FFS responded swiftly, arriving on-site at 10:50 AM, and successfully contained and controlled the fire.

Zubairu Ahmad mentioned that upon the accident’s occurrence, villagers fled the scene in fear.

This explosion comes just one month after a tragic tanker blast in Majia, Taura Local Government Area, which claimed over 170 lives.
