James Middleton recently gave a rare glimpse into his life as a father, revealing an adorable new habit of his baby son, Inigo.
During an appearance on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, the doting dad spoke about his family life, sharing how his little boy, whom he shares with wife Alizee Thevenet, has developed a fondness for tennis balls.
“He loves tennis balls because there are always some around,” James explained. “He enjoys tossing them for the dogs, sitting there giggling as he watches them chase after the balls.”
He added that the dogs have warmly embraced their youngest family member.
James also provided an update on Inigo’s milestones, celebrating his first birthday and revealing that his son has started walking. “He was on all fours for a while, but now he’s walking,” James said. “He steadies himself by holding onto a dog’s back, and as the dog starts moving, he follows along—it’s quite funny.”
The couple, who tied the knot in France in September 2021, welcomed their first child, Inigo, in 2023.
Despite their busy lives with a toddler, six dogs, and various farm animals like sheep, ducks, and chickens, James and Alizee haven’t ruled out expanding their family further.
In an exclusive interview, James, the younger brother of the Princess of Wales, expressed his desire for more children.
He shared that he would love to hear “the pitter-patter of tiny feet” again and is also planning to welcome another rescue dog to their home. When asked about the possibility of having more kids, he said, “If we’re fortunate enough to be able to, I’d love to. Whether it’s two feet or four, who knows what will come first?”
Now a Dogs Trust ambassador, James plans to bring more rescue dogs into his already bustling household when the time is right.
Reflecting on his journey as a father, he remarked: “No matter how much people tell you about the joy and life-changing experience of having a child, nothing truly prepares you for that moment when you meet your own baby. It unlocks a part of your heart you didn’t know existed.”
