After Donald Trump’s electoral win on Wednesday morning, tech mogul Elon Musk shared an edited image of himself holding a sink against the backdrop of the White House’s Oval Office.
The image was a nod to when Musk walked into Twitter headquarters holding a sink after acquiring the platform.
The billionaire, a vocal supporter and significant financial backer of Trump posted the image on X with the caption, “Let that sink in!” Musk had purchased Twitter (now X) in 2022 for $44 billion.
Musk had previously tweeted, “Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!” on October 26, 2022.
The post has sparked speculation about Musk possibly taking on a role in Trump’s administration if the Republican candidate secures the White House. Trump has previously mentioned wanting Musk as his “secretary of cost-cutting.”
As US media projections showed Trump nearing the 270 electoral votes needed to win the election, Musk shared his excitement with a series of posts on X. One of his first tweets said, “Game, set and match,” a phrase commonly used in tennis to signal victory.
Musk later shared a photo of himself speaking with Trump at an election night party, adding, “America is a nation of builders,” and, “Soon, you will be free to build.”
In a fourth post, Musk stated, “The people of America gave Donald Trump a crystal-clear mandate for change tonight.”
Musk has donated over $118 million to Trump’s campaign since endorsing him in July.
