A horrific crime has shocked the community of Ningi, Bauchi State. A two-year-old girl was found dead, showing signs of s*xual assault.
The incident was confirmed by police authorities on Tuesday. The child’s body was discovered near a local mosque.
A medical examination revealed that the girl had suffered severe internal injuries, leading to her untimely death. The police have launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrator of this heinous act.
“On November 5, 2024, an incident was reported to the Ningi Police Divisional Headquarters that a motionless body of a two-year-old baby was found beside a mosque on Deneva Street, Ningi LGA, with suspected signs of 3ape,” the statement read.
“Upon receiving the report, detectives were dispatched to the scene, and the victim’s body was taken to the General Hospital Ningi, where a medical report confirmed that the baby had suffered severe injuries as a result of penetration, which led to her d3ath.
“Condemning this heinous crime, the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, psc, Anipr, has directed the Divisional Police Officer to make extra efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
“He also called on parents and guardians to ensure the safety of their children and not to allow them to wander around the streets. The command is soliciting the public’s assistance with any useful information that could help in arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators.”
