Controversial influencer Andrew Tate has hailed a significant legal victory after a Romanian court ruled that part of the evidence against him and his brother, Tristan Tate, in their high-profile human trafficking case should be excluded.
The court issued its ruling earlier today, instructing prosecutors to remove certain evidence and giving them five days to decide whether to proceed with the trial or return the case.
The Bucharest appeals court, after hearing the defendants’ appeal, ordered prosecutors to correct the irregularities in the indictment and clarify within five days whether they will continue with the trial.
Andrew Tate, his brother Tristan, and two Romanian women were indicted in mid-2023 on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal group to exploit women—allegations they have denied.
Tate’s legal team described the court’s decision as a “groundbreaking victory” and a “triumph for justice,” calling it a pivotal moment in their ongoing legal battle. The ruling, they said, addresses significant flaws in the prosecution’s case, asserting that the exclusion of key evidence affirms serious violations of the defendants’ legal rights.
Eugen Vidineac, lead counsel for the Tate brothers, commented: “This is a monumental victory for our clients, who have consistently maintained their innocence.
The court’s decision to exclude crucial evidence and demand the correction of the indictment exposes the lack of substantiated claims against them. Justice is being served, and this is a crucial step toward clearing their names.”
Andrew Tate, 37, is currently under house arrest in Romania, awaiting trial on human trafficking charges, alongside his brother Tristan, 36, and two Romanian women.
