Adamawa State: Police Arrested Thief For Murder Stabbing Woman To Death Because She Recognizes And Calls Out His Name

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man, Abubakar Abdu, from Gengle village in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, for allegedly stabbing 30-year-old Azumi Abubakar to death.

On November 7, around 3 p.m., the suspect reportedly broke into Azumi’s home and stole some maize.

As he was attempting to flee, the victim recognized him and called out his name. Realizing he had been identified, Abubakar attacked the woman with a knife, fatally injuring her.

The police were alerted following a complaint from the victim’s husband.

Confirming the incident, the police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, stated that the suspect would face charges in court once the investigation is concluded.
