Nick Jonas quickly exited the stage during a Jonas Brothers concert in Prague on Tuesday night, October 15, after a laser was directed at him.
In footage from the event, Jonas can be seen seated at the piano when he suddenly stands up, signaling “time out.” He then rushes off the stage, moving down the stairs and through a narrow path between two barriers of fans.
Jonas, along with his brothers Kevin and Joe, is currently touring on the “Jonas Brothers World Tour,” celebrating their five albums. Reports from social media suggest that Kevin and Joe left the stage shortly after Nick.
Additional slow-motion video from the concert shows a laser dot hovering over Jonas’ head. The O2 Arena, where the concert took place, confirmed to Variety that the incident was caused by a laser.
“We can confirm that the Jonas Brothers’ performance was interrupted for a few minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer,” a spokesperson told the outlet. “The organizing team addressed the issue, and after a brief pause, the show resumed.”
Many fans online expressed concern, emphasizing that musicians should not have to deal with security threats during their performances.
