A drunken man picked a fight with a python while heading home from a pub, and the encounter ended poorly for him.
The fire department had to step in to rescue him from the snake’s deadly grip.
Authorities reported that the man was too intoxicated to explain how he found himself entangled with the python.
His friends stated that he encountered the 6.6-foot-long snake on his way home and, feeling bold, began to provoke the large reptile in front of them.
Unfortunately for him, the python gained the upper hand and wrapped itself around him tightly, prompting his friends to call for help.
Firefighters arrived in Huizhou, north of Hong Kong in China, just in time to prevent the snake from squeezing the man to death.
They utilized catch poles to capture the snake and release its grip on the victim.
Footage shows the man struggling on the ground as the snake coils around him, while firefighters eventually manage to stuff the captured python into a sack.
Despite his ordeal, the man declined to go to the hospital for a check-up and left the scene with his friends.
They later took the captured python to a secluded area and released it back into the wild the following day.
