Twin teenage brothers have been jailed after one ‘senselessly’ stabbed a 16-year-old boy to death during an after school fight.
WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?
Ashraf Habimana, who was not involved in the initial fight, was at a Luton car park with friends when the two groups of teens clashed at around 7pm on September 29.
One group included twin brothers, Athif and Althaf Hussaindeen, both 18, with Althif having been injured in fight on Runfold Avenue earlier that evening, according to Bedforshire Police.
The row escalated to the point where several teenagers had arrived at the car park armed with knives to face each other.
CCTV footage captured Althaf Hussaindeen assaulting Ashraf who was then stabbed in the back three times by Althaf’s twin brother, Athif.
Ashraf suffered multiple stab wounds and was tragically pronounced dead shortly after he was rushed to hospital.
Athif Hussaindeen was also caught on CCTV stabbing another 16-year-old who survived the attack.
The twin brothers fled the scene but were later arrested and charged with murder.

COURT RULING
Athif Hussaindeen was unanimously found guilty of murder following a trial in March.
He was also convicted of attempted murder, violent disorder and possession of a bladed article.
Athif Husaindeen was handed a life sentence and will serve a minimum of 24 years following the sentencing hearing at Luton Crown Court on Tuesday.
His twin brother Althaf Husaindeen, who was found guilty of manslaughter and violent disorder, was handed a seven-year prison sentence.
The judge noted that ‘Ashraf was unarmed and tried to do nothing but try to get away from the scene’ when he was attacked by the twins.
