Toke Makinwa has dismissed rumors regarding her supposed engagement.
Taking to X, the media personality clarified that she is still single, emphasizing that her parents have been receiving numerous inquiries about her alleged engagement, though no such event took place.
She wrote: “I did not get married yesterday. I truly appreciate all the love and prayers. I see how much you all wish for me to settle down, and God, who is the master of timing, will make it happen when He deems it’s right. Yesterday was simply to honor God.”
She continued: “I owe it to all of you—my friends and family—too much to have a secret wedding. You’ve been through everything with me, so know this directly from me: it was a day of thanksgiving, nothing more. xx.”
She added with a touch of humor: “You’ve had my parents flooded with calls, but I know it’s all love. All their friends have been calling non-stop! But I’m still very much single.”
Toke Makinwa’s 40th birthday Thanksgiving celebration on Sunday, October 20, which was attended by her friend Farouk Umar, led to speculations that it was an engagement event.
