Princess Kate recently sent a personal letter to Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, who has openly praised the royal’s gesture amid her own recovery journey from cancer.
In a statement shared with Nepalese publication Online Khabar, 54-year-old Manisha expressed how moved she was to receive a heartfelt reply after reaching out to the Princess of Wales.
“I wanted to reach out to HRH The Princess of Wales to send my good wishes, especially given my own experiences,” she shared. “I feel deeply touched by her warm response and wish her the best of health.”
Known for her roles in Bollywood films like Akele Hum Akele Tum and Mann, Manisha was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2012.
She has since become a vocal advocate for cancer awareness, particularly emphasizing the importance of access to equitable healthcare and recognizing ovarian cancer symptoms.
During a recent visit to London, Manisha connected with cancer patients at Ovacome, a charity supporting those affected by ovarian cancer.
The organization expressed gratitude, saying, “It was inspiring to see Manisha share her experience with members Samixa and Preeti. Her visit highlighted the vital work we do for the ovarian cancer community and reducing health inequalities.”
Ovacome encouraged supporters to consider donating or requesting awareness materials to help raise awareness within their communities.
