Meghan Markle surprised royal fans on Saturday with her unexpected attendance at the LA Children’s Hospital Gala.
Meghan arrived solo and was accompanied by several well-known personalities, including her friend of over ten years, Kelly McKee Zajfen.
The 43-year-old later shared the reason for her visit, revealing that she was invited as a special guest.
According to a statement on the official Duke and Duchess of Sussex website: “This weekend, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex attended the biennial Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Gala, an inspiring event dedicated to celebrating the exceptional services provided to children across LA. Invited as a special guest by CHLA’s president and CEO, Paul Viviano, the Duchess was proud to stand alongside esteemed guests in support of this vital cause.”
Meghan’s team also elaborated on her personal connection with the hospital, noting: “The Duchess has a long-standing relationship with CHLA, having visited the hospital on multiple occasions to meet with patients and participate in the annual Make March Matter campaign.”
They added, “Her presence at the gala highlighted her commitment to advocating for the health and well-being of children around the world.”
For the glamorous event, the former Suits actress chose to recycle her stunning scarlet dress from Carolina Herrera. She looked impeccable in the gown, which featured a sleek silhouette, fitted bodice, thigh-high slit, and a low V-neckline.
Meghan first wore this striking dress in 2021 at the Salute To Freedom Gala alongside Prince Harry, where it garnered significant media attention for its daring neckline—an audacious choice she may not have made while fulfilling royal duties.
This year, Meghan refreshed the look by omitting the dress’s billowing overskirt. She completed her ensemble with strappy red heels and a shiny gold bangle.
For her hair and makeup, Meghan styled her dark locks in effortless beachy waves and accentuated her features with nude lipstick and warm eyeshadow, looking absolutely sublime!
