The Taraba State Government has strongly condemned the degrading and inhumane treatment inflicted on a young boy, Musa Alhassan, by his teacher, Ahmadu Hassan, in the Saurara area of Jalingo.

In a statement released on Friday, October 4, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hon. Mary Sinjen, described the violent incident as a severe violation of human rights that will not be tolerated.

According to the Ministry’s statement, Musa Alhassan is currently receiving medical care in Jalingo, with the state government committed to ensuring his well-being. “His recovery is a priority for us, and we are closely monitoring his progress,” the statement noted.

The teacher responsible for the incident, Ahmadu Hassan, has been arrested and is now in the custody of law enforcement.

The government assured the public that justice would be served, emphasizing that there would be no tolerance for impunity in this case.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the boy is responding well to treatment.
