R. Kelly’s daughter became emotional as she reflected on how she once admired her father, only for his numerous s*x crime convictions to later devastate her life.
In the trailer for “R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey,” Joann Kelly admits there was a time when her father was her “everything.” However, when his convictions for possessing child p*rnography and engaging in s3xual acts with underage girls came to light, it completely changed her life.
Joann points out that no one wants to be the child of someone who has harmed women and children, and she emphasizes that her father understands why their relationship cannot be what she once envisioned.
In the clip, Joann, who appears to be pregnant, states that her son will also not have much of a relationship with his grandfather, making it clear that she will not be taking him to visit R. Kelly in prison.
Kelly’s ex-wife, Drea Kelly, along with Joann’s siblings Jaah Kelly and Robert Kelly Jr., also dived into what life was like growing up in the shadow of one of the music industry’s most notorious names in the doc, set to drop on October 11.
The disgraced singer is serving a 20-year prison sentence at Chicago’s Metropolitan Correctional Center. He was convicted on 6 of 13 counts back in 2022, which included producing child p0rnography.
