The United States has issued a stark warning to Iran, stating that an imminent ballistic missile attack against Israel is being prepared. According to credible intelligence, the US cautioned that any direct attack from Iran would result in severe consequences.
A senior White House official said, “The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel. We are actively supporting defensive preparations to protect Israel. A direct military strike from Iran will carry severe repercussions for Iran.”
The US also emphasized its readiness to assist Israel in intercepting any attacks, similar to its support in April when Iran launched a barrage of drones and missiles at Israel, most of which were successfully intercepted.
Tensions between Israel and Iran have escalated in recent weeks as Israel intensifies its actions against Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militant group in Lebanon, while simultaneously waging war in Gaza.
Last week, Israel killed numerous Hezbollah militants by targeting communication devices and launching airstrikes that killed several, including Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
In a move that could ignite a broader regional conflict, Israel launched a ground operation in southern Lebanon on Monday, aimed at Hezbollah leadership.
