Princess Sofia was beaming on Friday as she proudly displayed her blossoming baby bump at the Sophiahemmet University Graduation Ceremony.
The 39-year-old Swedish royal is expecting her fourth child with her husband, Prince Carl Philip. The couple are already parents to three sons: Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7, and Prince Julian, 3.
Sofia looked radiant in a chic black Rodebjer cape dress that flattered her growing bump, paired with sheer black tights and matching black Gianvito Rossi stilettos. She completed the look with elegant accessories, including a ring and bracelet from LWL Jewellery.
As the chairman of Sophiahemmet University, one of Sweden’s top healthcare institutions, Sofia took the stage in the grand Blue Hall to deliver a speech and present diplomas to the graduating nurses.
The joyous news of Sofia’s fourth pregnancy was first announced on 2 September via the official Instagram account of the Swedish royal family.
The post confirmed that the princess is “doing well” and that the baby is expected in February 2025. It also mentioned that there would be no changes to her schedule for the autumn.
The new baby will be eighth in line to the Swedish throne, following their older brother, Prince Julian.
In line with a 2019 decision by King Carl XVI Gustaf, the child will not hold the HRH title, as the children of Carl Philip and Sofia, as well as those of Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill, are not expected to perform royal duties in the future.
