Prince William Pauses Family Break For Special Congratulations

Prince William is currently enjoying a half-term break with Princess Kate and their three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—during their time off from Lambrook School.

While royal duties are on hold, William took a moment to personally congratulate Billy Monger, who recently set a new Ironman record for a double amputee at the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.

Billy completed the grueling 140.6-mile course, marking his achievement with a post on X: “14:23:56 – I can’t believe what just happened, World Championship Record Broken. I am officially an IRONMAN. Let’s goooooo.”

Among the many who congratulated him was William, who replied with a heartfelt message, “Well done Billy, inspirational effort. W.”

The 42-year-old royal has closely followed Billy’s journey and achievements. Billy, 25, a former racing driver who lost both legs after a near-fatal crash in 2017, has since transitioned into a broadcasting career, even covering the Paralympic Games for Channel 4.

As the Waleses spend their break together, they are likely embracing Halloween traditions. The family typically enjoys their time at Anmer Hall in Norfolk during half-term, where Kate has been known to buy Halloween costumes locally.

A fellow shopper spotted her with George and Charlotte shopping for costumes in 2019. Kate also took her children trick-or-treating in their Kensington neighborhood last October.

William, meanwhile, will resume royal duties in November, but he’s gearing up for the release of his new documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, airing on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player on October 30 and 31.

In a preview clip, he shared, “I think everyone having a right to a safe and stable home benefits us all. I come with no other agenda than desperately trying to help people who are in need. And I see that as part of my role… if I’m not using this role properly to influence and help people where I can, why else would I be here?”
