Prince William And Princess Kate Sleeping Arrangements May Surprise You

It was revealed on Thursday that Prince William and Princess Kate share their bed with their beloved dog, Orla.

The Prince of Wales made the admission during a visit to Duchy College Stoke Climsland in Callington, Cornwall. While there, William spoke with Louise Harland, who had brought her dog, Jacks, along, and he mentioned that Orla sleeps with him and Kate at night.

Following their conversation, Louise shared with Hits Radio Cornwall: “[William] said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate.”

She added that William was completely charmed by her own dog, asking about the breed—Jacks is a unique Cockerjack, a mix William hadn’t encountered before. William, 42, also complimented Jacks’ “soft” ears and showered the pup with affection.

Orla, a Cocker Spaniel, was gifted to William and Kate by Kate’s brother, James Middleton, in 2020. James, 36, is an entrepreneur who runs a dog food and lifestyle brand, Ella & Co., inspired by his late therapy dog, Ella, of whom Orla is a puppy.

Orla has been featured in several royal moments, including a video message from Kate in September that shared an update on her cancer recovery and included sweet scenes with their family.

Orla also appeared in Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday portrait, taken by Kate herself.

Orla’s name carries a special meaning, as the Gaelic translation is “golden princess,” fitting for her royal family.

Before Orla, the Wales family had another Cocker Spaniel named Lupo, who passed away in November 2020 at the age of nine. Lupo’s name, meaning “wolf” in Italian, is said to honor Kate’s paternal great-grandmother, Olive Christiana Middleton, whose family crest features wolves.
