Police in Kentucky made a gruesome discovery inside a home in Robertson County, leading to the arrest of a woman and the uncovering of a dismembered body.
Torilena Fields, 32, was taken into custody on the night of Wednesday, October 9, and charged with tampering with evidence, obstruction, and abuse of a corpse, according to jail records.
Her arrest followed an alarming discovery by maintenance workers, who arrived at her mother’s property and found the remains of a body, as cited in reports by WLWT.
The workers had visited the property a day earlier on October 8 and reported that Fields had been acting aggressively, claiming to cast spells on them.
When Kentucky State Police arrived, they discovered a dismembered body outside near a blood-stained mattress. There was also a trail of blood leading from the porch to the back door, with drag marks visible on the grass.
The body had been mutilated, with its arms, legs, and head removed, and organs missing. Nearby, police found a pile of hair and a blood-soaked stick.
After attempts to negotiate, Fields eventually left the house after 11 hours, appearing with blood on her face, hands, and clothing. Inside the home, police found more body parts that had allegedly been “cooked” in a pot inside the oven. The pot was still warm when discovered.
The victim’s identity will be confirmed following an autopsy, and more charges may follow as the investigation continues. Police suspect drugs may have played a role in the case. Fields is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, October 14.
