Man Trampled To Death While Attempting To Take A Selfie With An Elephant

Srikant Satre, 23, along with two friends, ventured into the Abapur forest near Gadchiroli in central India after hearing reports of an elephant sighting.

The group was in the city, located in Maharashtra, for cable-laying work when they learned from locals on Tuesday, October 22, that an elephant had been seen nearby.

According to Indian news outlet NDTV, the friends decided to search for the animal during their break on Thursday morning, October 24.

Upon spotting the elephant, they attempted to take pictures with it. Unfortunately, the elephant charged at them, resulting in Mr. Satre’s death as he tried to capture a selfie.

His two friends managed to escape unharmed.
