Kylie and Jordyn first met as teenagers through their mutual friend Jaden Smith and quickly became inseparable. Jordyn even moved in with Kylie in 2018 to support her as she adjusted to motherhood and was named godmother to Kylie’s daughter, Stormi.
However, in February 2019, rumors surfaced that Jordyn had been involved with Tristan Thompson at a house party. Although this wasn’t the first time Tristan had been unfaithful to Khloé, the fact that it involved Jordyn, Kylie’s best friend, made the situation more painful for the Kardashian family.
Jordyn later addressed the allegations on Red Table Talk, where she expressed regret over the situation but maintained that she was “not the reason” Khloé and Tristan’s relationship ended. “She doesn’t deserve this either,” Jordyn said of Khloé. “The last thing I wanted to do was be that person… I would never try to hurt someone’s home, especially someone I love.”
While many members of the Kardashian-Jenner family voiced their opinions on the matter, Kylie remained silent for a long time. She was the last of the sisters to unfollow Jordyn on Instagram, and by 2021, she confirmed their friendship had ended “overnight.”
After years of not being seen together, Kylie and Jordyn were spotted on a sushi date in LA in July, and later during Paris Fashion Week.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Kylie shared more about how distancing from Jordyn impacted her. “I was heartbroken,” Kylie admitted. “It wasn’t a full cold-turkey cutoff; it was needed distance. Anytime something happened, good or bad, I’d call her. Losing that person was lonely, but I had to go through that. I learned so much and gained independence.”
She added, “I think for both of us to grow, we needed that time apart.”
Kylie expressed relief that they could take time apart to grow individually while eventually finding their way back to each other to rebuild their friendship.
