Ojani Noa, actress Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband, has stated that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs played a role in the dissolution of their brief marriage.
In an appearance on Despierta America, the 50-year-old actor reflected on the end of his relationship with the 55-year-old superstar, claiming that “part of that divorce” was the fault of the 54-year-old controversial hip-hop mogul.
“When Sony came in and paid her the millions she received, there was Puffy [Combs], who was set to produce several tracks on her first album, On The 6,” he explained in Spanish. “That’s where the deception, the lies, and the separation began.”
He added, “I was in Los Angeles opening my restaurant, while she was between Miami and New York working on the album.”
“When I could, I would go to be with her. It was in that distance and separation where the deception started,” Noa said about his divorce from the “On The Floor” hitmaker.
Noa also claimed that the breakdown of their marriage negatively impacted his career and hindered his opportunities for various jobs.
“I would ask Jennifer, ‘What did I do to you that made you take me to court, accuse me, lie about me, create false narratives, and contact several companies to get me fired and prevent different television networks from giving me work?’”
“Why, if I haven’t done anything to you? Let her tell the truth and share everything that happened,” he added.
Noa’s interview, translated from Spanish to English, was featured in an article by Page Six on Wednesday. Noa and Lopez were married from 1997 to 1998, and she subsequently dated Combs from 1999 to 2001.
After their relationship, Lopez married Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003, followed by Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014, and most recently, Ben Affleck. She and Affleck are currently in the process of finalizing their divorce after two years of marriage.
