A newly released photo of Liam Payne, taken as he ascended to his hotel room in Argentina, is believed to be the last image of the One Direction star before his fatal plunge from a third-floor balcony.
The 31-year-old singer was seen entering an elevator at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, captured by surveillance cameras, according to local network America TV.
The haunting final image shows Payne in a white sleeveless shirt, with his arm tattoos visible. It’s unclear exactly when the photo was taken, but it closely matches the outfit seen in photos shared by TMZ, showing Payne unconscious after the fall.
Shortly afterward, a hotel manager made an urgent call to authorities, reporting a guest, allegedly under the influence of “drugs and alcohol,” was destroying his room and endangering his own life.
“When he’s conscious, he’s tearing the room apart. We urgently need assistance,” the manager stated in the audio recording.
First responders later discovered Payne’s body in the hotel’s inner courtyard, with medical officials confirming that he fractured his skull and died instantly from the fall.
